Hydroquinone
Indications/Uses
Relieves hyperpigmented skin conditions resulting from after inflammation, pregnancy melasma, or taking OCs.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cream After cleansing the skin w/ cleansing cream/lotion, apply cream to the affected area twice daily for 6-8 wk. Gel Apply twice daily. Duration of treatment: 6-8 wk.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ the eyes. Not to be used on open wound. Avoid sun exposure by applying sunscreen in the morning to prevent repigmentation. Perform sensitivity test prior to use. Minor redness w/ itching or vesicle formation or excessive inflammatory response. Discontinue application if no bleaching or lightening effect after 2 mth of treatment use. May produce unwanted cosmetic effect if used not as directed. Nursing mother. Childn <12 yr. Gel: Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Skin irritation. Discontinue use if burning or rash develop in 24 hr after application.
